HUMAN CHAIN - SAY NO TO DRUGS - Nov 1
SAY NO TO DRUGS
The student teachers of Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, had the opportunity to be a part of the massive human chain, organised as part of the Anti Drug Campaign. The Government of Kerala had launched this campaign with the motto 'SAY NO TO DRUGS' with the aim of alleviating drug usage among students in Kerala. As the campaign reached its climax, the Chief Minister called on all the students to form a chain among themselves, thereby expressing solidarity to this great cause.
The journey to the chain started off with the guidance given by the Principal of GCTE, Dr. V K Santhosh Kumar Sir. The teachers as well as the students assembled at Palayam which was the spot alloted to us. The program began with Pinarayi Vijayan, the honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, inaugurating the function. His message on the need to curb the use of drugs reverberated among all the students and teachers who were a part of this massive chain.
The student teachers of GCTE consider this opportunity a valuable one. It was a major campaign that we, the future teachers, look forward to. Once the evil of drug usage is wiped off, it will eventually lead to a healthy study atmosphere in schools and campuses. The human chain was thus a massive success and the message of 'SAY NO TO DRUGS' went deep down the thoughts of all the participants of the campaign. Finally, an anti-drug oath was taken by all the participants.
