NATIONAL TOOTH BRUSHING DAY 2022

Oral health is essential to general health and quality of life. Every year, November 7 is observed as National Tooth Brushing Day in India to reinforce the importance of children's oral health and promote good brushing habits recommended by dental health professionals.

Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, observed The National Tooth Brushing Day on November 7, in association with Noorul Islam College of Dental Sciences at the Ugc hall. Reshma Rajesh, I B.Ed student, sang the prayer song and thereby initiated the programme. Bushra Ansary delivered the welcome speech, followed by the inaugural address of Dr. V K Santosh Kumar Sir, the principal of GCTE. Felicitations were delivered by Dr. Syam Kumar, HOD, Department of Public Health Dentistry, and Dr. Joly S, Vice Principal of GCTE. Akshay A R and Alwin S Clement of Noorul Islam College of Dental Sciences offered health talks.
A skit was performed by the students of Noorul Islam College of Dental Sciences. It stressed on the need to maintain good oral health and how important it is in day to day life. Also, a detailed talk on the right way to brush teeth was indeed a helpful one. It made the audience realise the mistakes that they commit on a daily basis while brushing.

This was followed by a free Dental Camp. The final year BDS students of Noorul Islam College of Dental Sciences conducted a camp where students and teachers of GCTE could freely approach them regarding the various oral issues. Detailed prescriptions and tooth paste were distributed to all the students who participated in the camp.
