Inauguration of Anti- Ragging Cell
Ragging is a serious issue that can lead to experiences like physical injuries, mental distress, anxiety, depression, and even post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It should be banned in colleges and universities to avoid its tragic consequences. The inauguration of GCTE's Anti- Ragging Cell and a talk on "Measures to address the problems and challenges related to ragging" were organized on 15 March, 2023, at the general hall 2.
Reshma Rajesh of I B.Ed rendered the prayer song. Praveen Kumar, The College Union Chairman, extended welcome to the gathering. This was followed by the presidential address by Dr. V K Santhosh Kumar Sir, the principal of GCTE. Dr. Isaac Paul and Mr. Rahul V R, Associate Professors of GCTE, offered felicitations. The resource person of the day was Advocate Maya V, the Founder of CLAP for India. She led this interactive session with so much grace and expertise.
THE OBJECTIVES OF ANTI- RAGGING CELL: Anti-Ragging Committee will be the supervisory and advisory committee in preserving a Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. The main objectives of this cell are :
1. To make the students aware of the dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.
2. To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging, so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
3. Promptly and stringently deal with the incidents of ragging brought to notice.
4. To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not go unnoticed and unpunished.
