Adieu Cotton Hill... SCHOOL INTERNSHIP: Week 9 (18 December 2023 - 22 December 2023)

         DAY 39 : 18 December 2023

                      Exam Duty 

Exams are progressing and we have started taking exam duties. The experience of invigilation is different. We are given proper guidance by the teachers regarding our duties at the exam hall. All the teacher trainees assemble in a room every morning and take duties. 

           DAY 40 : 19 December 2023

                        Exam Duty

The day began with exam duty in the High School section. Once the exam was complete, I handed over the papers at the exam control room and went back to the class allotted to us.

           DAY 41 : 20 December 2023

              Exam Duty at UP section 

We have started taking exam duties at the UP section. The duty there is hectic as compared to that in the high school section. In addition to exam invigilation, we also serve tea and snacks to the teachers. Moreover, the students ask doubts continuously. What I felt is that they do not try to read and understand a question on their own. They depend on the teacher too much for this. Even the simplest questions are not understood by them. Nevertheless, I helped them as much as I can to clarify their doubts.

         DAY 42 : 21 December 2023

                     The hectic day

Today was the most hectic day at school. Some of us had to go twice for the exam duty, both morning and afternoon at the UP section. We had to stand continuously for hours, while having to attend the students' queries. We were so tired by the end of the day. Since it was the second last day of our internship, we wanted to complete all our duties in the best way possible. The day was tiresome, but somehow we managed to sail through it.

            DAY 43 : 22 December 2023

                    Adieu Cotton Hill 

Today was the last day at G.G.H.S.S Cotton Hill. It was a good day. I went to meet my supervising teachers who wished me good luck. I also met all my students. I was content the way I worked for them. I am confident that I have built a healthy relation with each and every student in my class. I was not too attached to anyone; parting was thus not so difficult for me. It was with a sense of satisfaction and happiness that I stepped out of Cotton Hill School. I am grateful for all the experiences that the place gifted me.

FILM FESTIVAL AND BEST FILM CRITIC                         COMPETITION   A film festival and a film critic competition were held by the Film Club of Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, on 23 November, 2022 at the UGC hall of the campus. By 3.30 pm, the student teachers and teachers of GCTE assembled at the UGC hall and the film screening began. Two short films were chosen for the screening - Aasai directed by Sam and Tippen Box directed by Karthik Gopal. Both were Tamil short films with English subtitles. The club had the plan to show the Disney animated movie Encanto as well; however the technical difficulties did not make this happen. PATHWAY - SOCIAL LIFE WELLNESS PROGRAMME - 17, 18, 19 January, 2023.

     PATHWAY - SOCIAL LIFE WELLNESS                       PROGRAMME 2022-23 The Department of Minority Welfare that works under the Kerala Government had organised a three day session with the title "Pathway - Social Life Wellness Programme" at Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud, Trivandrum on January 17th , 18th and 19th, 2023. Our college was one among the selected institutions to host the programme.  On the first day, after the morning prayer, Dr. Isaac Paul, Assistant Professor of GCTE, welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was delivered by the principal, Dr. V K Santhosh Kumar. The programme was officially inaugurated by Shri G Madhavadas, Ward Counciller of Thycaud. "THODAYAM" : ARTS DAY - 21, 22 February, 2023

                Thodayam : Arts Fest   Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, witnessed an amazing, colourful gala, THODAYAM 2023 , on 21 and 22 February, 2023 at the UGC hall of the campus.  The inaugural ceremony began with a prayer song by Mariya of I B.Ed. Mrs Asha Krishan, the Arts Convenor of GCTE, delivered the welcome speech. This was followed by Dr. V K Santhosh Kumar Sir, the Principal's presidential address. The chief guest of the day was Smt. Vinitha V, Lecturer in Dance, Sree Swathi Tirunal College of Music. She inaugurated the event and also performed for the audience. It was indeed a visual treat to witness the magic of her dance performance.
