COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP : ചിരന്തന☘️🍃 - DAY 2 (13 February 2024)
Chiranthana Day 2
Day 2 started off with an aerobics session led by Mrs. Jithi, the Physical Education instructor of CET. Chinju S Nair of II B.Ed welcomed her to the camp. The session was really good, especially for beginners like us. She started with simple steps, gradually increasing its complexity. It was great to exercise without the extra pressure of exercising; it felt more like an entertainment session with friends and some good music.
CAMP NEWS TIME !
After breakfast, all of us assembled in the hall. It was then time to present the camp news that we had prepared the previous night. All the five groups were present, and the representatives of each group came forward and read the news. It was great to listen to the same events presented innovatively in different ways and from different perspectives.
THEME PRESENTATION
The Natural Science optional students were all set to present the theme - SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. Every aspect of the theme was very well presented with the aid of powerpoint slides. The fruit of their collaborative effort was undoubtedly sweet.
Session 2
Into the world of Psychology
By 10 am, the second session of the day began. It was handled by Dr. H Vijayan Pillai, Director of INFERENCE, a centre for psychological service. The topic of discussion was MENTAL HEALTH AND COUNSELLING. It was a complete theory oriented class wherein he discussed some of the major concepts in psychology. Our feedback regarding the session was that it could have been interesting and interactive.
Once the session ended, we utilized the remaining time for some cultural programs. The next session was to begin after lunch break.
Session 3
A vibrant session with Mr. Sreenath
The next session began by 2pm. It was led by Sri. S Sreenath, an expert soft skill trainer. The topic of discussion was CAMPUS TO COMMUNITY. Contrary to the previous session, Sreenath Sir made his session really interactive. We were divided into groups and asked to select a group name and a hookstep. This itself made all of us excited and active. He made us play a group game named 'World Tour' which was instrumental in making us analyse the importance of communication, decision making, and leadership skills. The session was at once informative and entertaining. He really captivated our attention with the gift of his gab.
Session 4
Let's Communicate
Post tea break, we had the final session of the day which was handled by Adv. Anson P D Alexander (Director, Kanal - NGO). EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION was the topic of discussion. Through various engaging activities, he explained the types of communication and the barriers that hinder it. His behaviour made him one among us; we felt like we were listening to a friend of ours. He also made the students perform a drama without dialogues. This was done really well by the team, thereby underscoring the importance of gestures and non-verbal aspects in communication.
After dinner, we began the preparation for the next day.
