COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP: ചിരന്തന 🍃☘️ - DAY 4 ( 15 February 2024 )

                      And it's Day 4

Day 4 began with the vibrant aerobics session with Jithi Ma'am. The camp news was then read by the group representatives. Time was also allotted for the student teachers to share their feedback on the camp so far.

SESSION 1:  Rhythms of authentic poetry

There was only a single session that day, since the afternoon was allotted for institutional visit. The resource person who joined us was Gireesh Puliyoor Sir who engaged us in the session titled 'പറയുന്നു പാടുന്നു'.

It was indeed a much needed session, too different from all those in the previous days. The vibrancy and rhythm of his poems captivated everyone present there. It was not just the tunes, but the content that he deals with, that adds strength to his lines. The student teachers sang along with him; the atmosphere created there was magical and immersed in the beauty and power of authentic poetry. At the end of the session, he gifted his poetry collection "കരിങ്കുയിലും കണിവെള്ളരിയും" to Anju Teacher so that it could be a part of GCTE's library collection.

                      VISIT TO IIST

By 1 pm, the student teachers and camp coordinators started their journey to Indian Institute of Science and Technology, IIST. The welcome that we got there was heart warming. We were treated courteously and made comfortable in all ways. We gathered in the huge seminar hall of IIST. The atmosphere there was majestic, underscoring the prestige of the institution.

Raju George Sir, the Dean of the Institution, introduced us to the glory of the campus. Rajeev Sir was a wonderful and warm host. The major session of the day was handled by Professor Umesh Kadhane on the topic 'The Science and Art of Learning'. There was an interactive session after his presentation. It was a memorable day for me as I got a chance to be on stage of IIST, delivering a vote of thanks to everyone who made this event possible.
We were then taken for the IIST lab tour. We visited almost three labs where active work and research were going on in topics like Plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition, plasma enhanced atomic layer deposition, and such. It was inspirational to see the future scientists of our country working on innovations that could create revolutions in the days to come.

                A night to remember

The rest of the evening was completely alloted for cultural programmes. The lethargy of all the previous days totally vanished with the dance and music that ruled the stage of Grameena Patana Kendram. The program began with a fusion dance by me and Parvathy. It was our first time dancing together and hence the performance was really special. There were many music and dance performances. We performed our flashmob once again. The night came to an end with a DJ party. We danced our hearts out and enjoyed like never before. DAY 4 was the most memorable day for all of us.
