OBSERVATION OF WORLD WETLANDS DAY
The Geography Association of Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud, and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), collaboratively organized an expert talk on World Wetlands Day. Dr. V. Subhash Chandra Bose, a renowned environmentalist, was the chief guest of the day. The importance of wetlands and the need to conserve them were discussed.
The session started with an introduction to the theme of World Wetlands Day. The current global scenario pertaining to wetland conservation was also put to discussion. Dr. V. Subhash Chandra Bose talked at length on this topic, spreading awareness about the ecological, social, and economic significance of wetlands. The crucial role that wetlands play in maintaining biodiversity was also discussed. Towards the end of the session, the audience raised their questions and doubts , which he cleared very well.
